Richard Lindsay, Democratic candidate for the 8th District State Senate has to date raised $15,105.19 for his campaign. According to Lindsay "all the money I’ve been grateful to receive comes from individual contributions; and none of it from special interests. However, the incumbent Erik Wells received a little over $14,000.00 from special interests; a full two-thirds of the total he has raised thus far."
According to the most recent campaign financial statement, Erik Wells has to date raised $25,750.00.
Lindsay stated further "If actions speak louder than words then the fact that Sen. Wells received the bulk of his campaign funds from the likes of coal operators and the Chamber of Commerce speaks volumes. I am the only Democratic candidate vying for the 8th District State Senate that is supported entirely by hard working individual contributors. Just another example of how my candidacy truly represents ‘A New Voice for A New Day in West Virginia.’"
